Hi guys, I'm going to DR with my boyfriend next week, I searched and read a lot of information about santo Domingo. Most people said DR it's not a safe country. I'm just wondering if colonial zone is safe, Airbnb is better than hotel or hotel is safer than Airbnb? Is there any safe area? If you use common sense, don't flash money or jewels you should be fine. Like any large city anywhere there are places you don't want to venture in.
A day in the life of a prostitute in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo Dominican Republic is the home of the oldest establishments in the area and is the oldest city in the Dominican Republic. Walking the cobblestones street of the city you will be walking in the footsteps of the first colonialists that helped to make this city what it is today. Many people choose to enjoy their Santo Domingo vacation by visiting such attractions as the Alcazar and the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor in the old city. During your Santo Domingo travel, you will experience the largest shopping area in all of the Dominican Republic. Here you will find a variety of charming local shops along with huge department stores and discount stores, so you can find everything you need such as clothing for the beach or souvenirs to take home to family and friends. Los Tres Ojos is a magnificent foot cave that is surrounded by three beautiful lagoons.
